Wednesday the 5th of December 2012, Jack decided to spoil 321 children in the Overberg region of South Africa. Coming from broken, poverty stricken homes, most of which who have in some way been affected by drugs and crime, they were in desperate need of a kind gesture from their neighbours in the surrounding kingdom.
In the run up to the party Jack figured he would send a shout out to his friends in business and implore them to send hope to these special children any which way they can. The response was truly angelic. MTN and an individual sponsor decided to take care of the gifts for them with Coke reducing their rate to keep the kids hydrated and Community Chest sending goodie bags for all of them. The Oak and Vigne baked some cake and Pick n Pay generously donated the hot dogs to fill their tummies.
At the school, Police Captain Tamboer spoke to the kids and Richard from the Fire Department delivered Santa Claus to an ecstatic Bereaville Premier. After their hot dogs and cake they each received a present from Father Christmas and a goodie bag while the rest of the school sang Christmas Carols.
Their day ended off with a prize giving where happy students were rewarded for their hard work throughout the year.
A HUGE thank you to all of our sponsors who were able to touch the lives of these children. We are excited and proud to have successfully reached SO many appreciative children! Always remember doesn’t matter how big or small your act is, kindness always makes a difference!
